Getting to know Ariane
As a graduate of the International Fashion Merchandising Management major at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT)and the schools of Communication and Spanish at Wake Forest University, Ariane Datil has a keen eye for what’s in style and a knack for knowing how to market it! During her first year at FIT, Ariane designed a unique bra concept for Victoria’s Secret and interned in the great fashion house of Elie Tahari. Recently, Ariane was accepted into the Macy’s Executive Development Training Program where she will be able to put her skills to use with one of America’s biggest names in retail!
A lover of foreign history and culture, Ariane has traveled to over 20 countries and speaks and writes Spanish and Italian fluently. In middle school, she participated in the People to People student ambassador program which allowed her to travel to many countries learning about and experiencing their governments and cultures. Since then she has travelled frequently and even spent a semester studying abroad in Spain and a year in Italy!
Recipient of the SUNY Chancellor’s Scholar Athlete award, for her successes on the volleyball court and in the classroom, Ariane believes in the value of a well-rounded education. Since high school she has volunteered her time supporting organizations that promote the development of a great well-education system for our youth. One of her favorite experiences to date was with an organization called DESK that provides personalized desks to children in underprivileged neighborhoods in order to get them motivated to study at home.
